Every journey begins with the first step, and mine was Bcom(Hons) at Gargi College, Delhi University. Trained in accountancy, economics and management, I chose the more arduous path of making predictions. I joined Masters in Economics at Centre for Economic Studies and Planning, Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi where I was taught by stalwarts and developed an unenviable liking for coffee. Two years turned into eight as I went on to complete my M Phil and PhD in international economics. Life has a way of turning full circle and after a long hiatus from taxation, I joined NIPFP's tax team with the very first assignment of co-authoring the report on unaccounted incomes. Thereafter I've worked on several reports of consequence. Now I work at NIPFP as an Associate Professor looking at India's tax policy and negotiations with keen interest. With a penchant for picking tough battles I forayed into climate finance and also work with the LSE on the topic as visiting senior fellow
